How do I measure properly for outdoor replacement cushions?

Measure Between Seams: If possible, measure dimensions between the seams or between the cording of the outdoor cushion case, with the foam inside.Imagine A Seam If One Doesn’t Exist: If there are no seams on your outdoor furniture covers and you need to eyeball your measurement, you’ll have to imagine the seam. The rounded sides are often caused by Dacron/polyester batting, so you don’t want to measure all the way to the edge. Instead, measure to just before the curvature of the outdoor fabric.

How thick should my outdoor replacement cushions be?

Most importantly, if you are ordering replacement cushions to fill existing outdoor cushion covers, the new foam should be the same dimensions and thickness of the original cushion. Use the existing outdoor cover to measure for proper thickness. If you are looking for foam plus covers, you can change the thickness of the cushions, as long as they will still fit the furniture. If your cushions will be for seating, you generally want the top of the seat cushion to be 18–20" from the floor to allow for the user’s feet to rest comfortably on the floor.

Should I order dacron (polyester) batting with my outdoor furniture cushions?

We recommend dacron batting for indoor or outdoor patio cushions, generally with a book wrap. Dacron batting gives patio furniture cushions a full, comfortable, rounded look. Without dacron your patio cushions may show wrinkles in the fabric. Dacron provides an additional layer of comfortable padding between the foam and cover, making your patio cushions as comfortable as possible. If you really don’t want batting, then order your foam slightly thicker (1/4" to 1/2") than the case to make sure it fills in as much as possible.

Which materials are best for outdoor furniture cushions?
