Heavy Certified Organic Cotton Mattress Ticking — Sold by the Yard

This heavy, double-knit organic cotton ticking is the same premium fabric we use for our custom organic mattress covers. It is made from certified 100% organic cotton yarn and finished without synthetic blends, chemical finishes, or VOCs. The fabric has a smooth, cool hand feel with a gentle natural stretch, and is designed to be breathable, durable, and long-lasting in high-contact bedding applications.

Recommended use

Commonly used for organic mattress ticking, encasements, toppers, and high-contact bedding surfaces where customers want natural fiber content instead of synthetic blends or plastic barriers. The heavy knit construction offers gentle stretch and recovery, which helps the fabric contour smoothly without bunching or bagging.

Pre-wash guidance

This fabric will naturally tighten and shrink slightly in the first wash and dry cycle. For any project that needs a removable, washable cover, pre-wash and dry the yardage before you cut and sew. Expect around five percent shrinkage.

Care notes

After pre-washing: gentle cycle, warm water, light detergent, no bleach, no fabric softener, tumble dry low or air dry.

If you choose not to pre-wash before sewing: treat the finished cover as dry-clean only to maintain sizing.
